Comb on additional adhesive with the notched side. Use the proper sized notched trowel to insure full bedding of the tile. Spread as much adhesive as can be covered with tiles in 25-30 minutes. Place tiles into wet, sticky adhesive and beat in using a beating block and rubber mallet to imbed tiles and adjust level. If mortar is skinned over (not sticky), remove and replace with fresh mortar. The open time of ALFAKOL 3*, in normal conditions of temperature and humidity is 30 minutes. Unfavourable environmental conditions (strong sunlight, drying wind, high temperature as well as highly absorbent substrate), could drastically reduce this time to a few minutes.Substrates Preparation Substrates must be compact, free from substances that reduce adhesion such as dust, oil, grease and with no loose material. The substrate must be stable, non-deformable, without cracks and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. Uneven sections must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing product. Preparing the mix- Application Pour the material to a bucket of clean water mixing constantly with a low speed (400 rpm) electric mixer until a creamy consistency is achieved. Allow mixture settle for 5 minutes and remix prior the application. Attention! Additional water will make your mixture sloppy and may cause negative results on final strength.
